Class one:
Today we are working on listening part 3. We will start with a ‘what would you do?’ about awkward situations, before looking at the exam training on page 55. We will complete exercises 1 and 2, which focus on identifying distractions in the listening. Then we are going to complete the exam task on page 56. We will correct the answers and read the transcript, in order to identify where the distracting information is.
Homework: Please complete exercises 1 and 2 relating to the essay.
Class two:
Today we are going to look at a new writing question: the report. We will work through the activities on pages 47 and 48. We are going then going to talk about the question you will be set for homework, and how to structure it. The theme of the today’s class is festivals and customs, so we will also be talking about some festivals in the UK and in Spain.
Your English teacher has asked you to write a report on a local festival in your area. You should include the views of visitors and local people, comment on any problems and dissatisfaction and make a recommendation.
Write your report in 140-190 words in an appropriate style.
