Hi guys,
Class one:
Today we looked at part 3 of the listening exam on pages 51 and 52. We look at adjectives of emotion and what they mean in exercise one on page 51, and then examined different ways we could hear these feelings conveyed in the listening. Students then looked at the questions in exercise 2a and discussed in pairs what vocabulary or grammar they might hear in reference to the answers. We then watched a couple of videos (see below) about collections and hoarding- we discussed what it is, what causes it and how it would affect a person’s life. We also spoke our own (less extreme) collections. Finally we completed the exam task on page 52.
Homework: Please complete the exam task on page 163 and question 3 of writing part 2 on page 156.
Class two:
Today we revised the passive voice. We began with a coded text in which students guessed the coded words based on their knowledge of the passive voice (see below).

We completed exercises 3 on page 69 and clarified the grammar behind each answer. We then played a Kahoot that contained all manner of passives, from past to future.

Finally, we looked at prepositions. Students completed the lyrics to Gloria Gaynor’s I will survive and then listened and checked their answers.
Homework: Please complete page 68 and the exam task on page 70.
