Hi guys,

This week in class one we looked briefly at some modals to revise meaning (on page 73) before completing a murder mystery role play. Students interviewed each other to find the perpetrator of the crime at a murderous dinner party.

Homework: complete exercises 1, 2 and 4 on page 73.

In class two we are looking at the speaking exam, though predominantly focusing on part 2 (the pictures!). We will go through the structure of the answer, and how to cram in all the necessary information in 60 seconds. Students will practise comparing two images, speculating and time keeping. We will also look at a speaking part 3 task.

Homework:

Writing part 2: informal letter

Read part of an email from a friend who is planning to come and live in your country.

Of course, I’d really need to learn the language. I know you’ve been learning English for years, so you’ve had loads of experience. Are there any tricks of the trade that might help me pick up your language a bit more quickly?
