Here is the plan for this week:

Class 1:

Today we will shift our attention to writing part 2, and how to write a proposal. We will look at the structure of the task, and useful phrases that can be included. We are then going to work through the plan for your proposal in pairs.

Your homework will be to complete the following exam task:

There are plans to demolish an old and unused building in the town where you are a student. You feel that the building should be saved. You decide to write a proposal for the town council explaining why you think the building should be preserved, suggesting what could be done to modernise it and saying how the building could benefit the local people.

Write your proposal in 220-260 words.

Class 2:

We worked through pages 24 and 25, which relate to part 5 of the Reading and Use of English. Specifically it concerns understanding difficult words from the context. This was in preparation of the exam task on pages 26-28.
