In class one we are going to begin a series of writing workshops. Today we will focus on part 1 (the essay). We will begin by reviewing the basics of writing an essay, and the areas on which Cambridge examiners focus.
Students will then read three sample answers and discuss how good or bad they believe the answers are in accordance with the assessment scale. We will then match the answers with their official scores.
We will create a word bank of expressions which students can use to start paragraphs, introduce examples and give explanations. To help with the homework the following link has lots of great language.
