Today in class we will focus on speaking part 1 and Reading and Use of English part 4.
We will begin by answering the questions in exercise 1 on page 15 before studying collocations with the verbs ‘make’ and ‘give’ : Quizlet Live . Following on we’ll look at page 14 of the course book, and how to complete part 4 of the use of English exam. We will look at 5 examples together as a class, and then students will complete exercise 1 in pairs.
To finish we will play a Bamboozle to revise the content from today’s class: Collocations and part 4 Bamboozle

In class two we will look at listening part 1 and speaking parts 3 and 4. We will discuss language learning, why English is so important nowadays, and techniques to learn a new language. We will then complete the listening task on page 19. Next, students will work together to complete a speaking part 3 task, and then the following speaking part 4 questions:
- How important is it nowadays to speak more than one language? Why?
- Do you think that some languages or regional dialects are dying. Do you think they should be preserved?
- Some people think that one day there will be just one language in the world. Do you agree with this? Would the world be a better place?
- How do you think the world would be different if there was only one language?
- Some people say learning a foreign language is pointless, due to the rapid advancements of translation technology. What do you think about this?
