Class one
This week we will start a new topic in the book: Addicted to Fashion. Working on pages 14 and 15 we will read about 4 young people’s opinions on fashion and then discuss our own points of view based on the following questions:
- What do you take into account when you buy clothes?
- Do you base your choices on the following:
- Your budget?
- How it looks?
- Quality of material?
- The brand?
- Do you prefer to spend a lot of money on a few designer pieces, or would you rather have an extensive collective of cheaper items?
- How do you think fashion affects people’s moods?
- What can the clothes we wear tell us about people’s personalities?
- Why are some people so concerned with following fashion?
- Are you bothered about keeping up to date with people trends?
- Are you interested in exploring fashion alternatives to look different and stand out from the crowd?
We will also learn some personality adjectives and their dependent preposition. We will also complete the exam task on page 15.
To finish class students will play a kahoot to practise the adjective/prepositions.
Homework
Read the four paragraphs on page 15 and answer the questions in exercise 4 and 5.
Class two
In class two we will start off with some vocabulary and conversation on page 16 (exercise 1). Then we will learn about when and how to use the present perfect simple and continuous. We will complete exercise 1 on page 16, and then the activities in the grammar review on page 149. We’ll also play bamboozle to practise this grammar.
We will finish class by completing the listening exam task on page 17, which is all about school uniforms.

Many people like to follow different styles of fashion. Are you a fashion lover, or do you think it’s an expensive waste of time keeping up with fashion?
We’d love to hear your opinion. Is a person’s appearance important? What clothes do you like to wear and why? Do you think we spend too much money on clothes?
