Class one:
Today in class we focused on Listening Part 4(ex 4 page 9) of the CAE exam in the context of people’s occupations and the admirable qualities they had. We first completed a series of questions in which the students had to answer with three adjectives designed as a personality test. We all passed.
Then we completed the listening task before going on to analyse the transcript for clues and distractors. We finished by having a discussion in breakout rooms about someone interesting or unusual that we know. (ex 5 page9)
The homework was to read the grammar point on page 177-9 for past verb forms in preparation for Thursday’s class.
Class two:
Revision of past simple and past continues page 10
Revision and Introduction to present perfect, past perfect and would and used to page 10
Reading and writing – matching past verb forms to their uses
Discussion and Reading – using past verb forms to talk about what they were doing when they heard about past events.
