B2 Open World, Monday and Wednesday 16.00 to 17.15
Monday 4th October
Today we will hand out the B2 Open World textbooks. The first pages we will look at are about introductions and the questions we ask when we meet people for the first time.
So, we will play a game of Interview/Role Plays. One person will be the Star, or famous person, and the rest have to interview them to ask difficult questions.
Then we can open the books on Page 8 and 9
The first activity is about Getting to Know your classmates, and then we can play a Bamboozle about the theme. You will be times so you have to speak for 40 seconds
Then the next page is about Emoticons and how we use them. First as a warmer I will ask a few students to come to the Board and draw an emoji, and the class has to guess what it is.
Then, we can use the textbook on Page 9 to do the exercises, then we will play a Emoji game to guess and think about more emojis.
We will use the Textbook to think about different emotions and times we felt like this. It is a good chance to talk about positive and negative adjectives and play an A – Z game to think of adjectives (alone, bored, cheerful, delirious etc etc)
Wednesday 6th October
The first thing to do is to review what we did in the last class. So we can ask some more questions and talk about emojis.
We will play a game of Hangman with emotions. Students can take it in turn to come to the Board and choose an adjective and play hangman with the class.
Then, we will open the Textbooks and look at pages 10 and 11, where we will see more emotions and do a reading, and the next page has some good activities including an exam activity and some grammar (present perfect review). WE will write 10 sentences each with present perfect.
Homework
For Homework, please write 140-190 words about yourself. Use lots of adjectives and linking words.
