Class 1 – Tuesday, November 2nd

We will begin with our homework, revising and clarifying any potential doubts.

We will then talk about personality types and personality traits. We will talk about the idiom «to get along with someone» and see other ways how to express having a close relationship/friendship with someone.

We will do exercises 1-5 on page 15 and practice word formation (conversions from noun to adjective, from verb to noun, adjective to adverb etc). which is a part 3 of CAE exam Reading and Use of English.

We will continue and finish with word formation practice:

Class 2 – Thursday, November 4th

Hang in there, it’s almost weekend! Today we are going to go over gerund vs. infinitive verb patterns. These grammatical structures are often in CAE exam and they can equally be used for the writing part of it.
So, how do we grapple with them? Tricky little things, the verbs! Ssshh, here’s a little secret: there is a list of verbs to know when you should use „to“ and when you should use the „ing-form“.
But if you’re not the type to simply memorize various lists, worry not! We will try to use this mind map to help us figure out when to use the forms above:

Also we will put it to a test and try to do a verb patterns quiz:

We will then do the task 4 on the page 20 of Student’s book.
