Partly agreeing
I agree up to a point, but …

That’s partly true, but …
I’m not so sure about that.
Disagreeing
I don’t agree!
I totally disagree!
Absolutely not!
That’s not right!
I’m not sure about that.

It is always a good idea to justify your opinions. Don’t just say ‘I agree’, but say ‘I agree because … (explain your reason).’

Agreeing and disagreeing

  • The internet is the best way to do your shopping.
  • People under the age of 15 shouldn’t have mobile phones.
  • Teenagers should only be allowed to use the internet for 1 hour a week.
  • Homework should be banned.
  • The summer holidays are too long.
