Monday / Tuesday

Today we will finish off this chapter in the book with some exam practice related to the topic. We will:

  • Complete the listening part 1 exam task on pages 74 and 75.
  • Work in pairs to discuss AI applications on page 72
  • Complete the speaking part 4 questions on page 72
  • Revise recently studied grammar (the conditional structures and relative clauses)

Wednesday / Thursday

Today we will start a new topic in the book: Structures and Landmarks

We will: 

  • Begin with some speaking practice (Roleplay and part 1 questions):
  • Finally we will look at the homework task, which is to write a proposal, and plan our answers in pairs. We will discuss the structure and how to write a proposal.

Homework

There are plans to demolish an old and unused building in the town where you are a student. You feel that the building should be saved. You decide to write a proposal for the town council explaining why you think the building should be preserved, suggesting what could be done to modernise it and saying how the building could benefit the local people.

Write your proposal in 220-260 words.
