Monday/Tuesday
Today we will look at the use of inversion and exam techniques for part 4 of the RUE exam.
We’ll kick off by discussing what makes a good horror story, before reading a short extract. From there we will look at what inversion is, and how and why to use it. We will work through the most common structures before completing some part 4 exam style questions.

Today in class we will discuss halloween, how we celebrate it and where the tradition actually comes from.
- Is Halloween an important day in your country? What does it mean to you?
- How would you like to celebrate Halloween this year?
- Do you like horror movies? Why or why not? If so, what’s your favorite scary movie?
- Why do you think people love to feel scared?
- Have you ever carved a jack-o-lantern? What do you think the origins of this tradition might be?
We will watch the first 5 minutes of this video about Jack o lanterns to learn its origins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrPeUtjr9Uw
Students will then discuss in pairs some halloween related discussion topics to practice interactive language.
And complete this short listening task:
We will then play a Halloween Trivia or a spooky MacroPhotography quiz to finish the class!
