Hi everyone,

I am putting up some online resources that you can use during this time to practice your English. Of course classes are going ahead online, but if you find yourself with too much time on your hands and you wish to spend it productively, here are some resources you can use. Let me know how you get on with them!

Cambridge English Activities

These are great 5-10 minute exercises to practice grammar, vocabulary or reading for all levels. You can select your level (basic, independent or proficient) and the skill you want to practice.

Cambridge PET (B1), FCE (B2) and CAE (C1) exam practice

This is a great website to practise exam-style tasks online with immediate feedback. It works particularly well for Reading and Use of English and Listening. You could set yourself a goal of doing one exam task per day.

Write and Improve

This is another Cambridge resource but specialised in writing. You choose one of the available topics, write a short text and get immediate feedback. You can then improve your writing based on the comments you received. I’d really recommend doing one or two of these a week!

Ted ED

Here you will find short, animated versions of Ted Talks (usually about 5 minutes long) accompanied by comprehension questions. This is great for your listening skills and you can also learn something new – the range of topics is endless!

Lyrics Training

If you prefer music to videos I highly recommend this website! You can choose a music video (they have a great selection) and do one of the gap-fill activities to complete the lyrics of the song. They come in different levels, ranging from beginner to expert.

I hope this will keep you occupied and if you have any questions or your own recommendations just let me know 🙂

Best,

Alicja
