“Can technology solve our big problems?” Today we will learn new advanced vocabulary and their synonyms, watch a video and have a chance to discuss whether the technology has developed in the right direction.

We will kick off by brainstorming about big inventions of the 21st century. Next we are going to acquire some tough vocabulary from the video we will watch later on  and learn new synonyms.

The first exercise is an odd-word-out type of activity and then students will have to use groups of synonyms to fill in the gaps. Later, we will watch the video and check our answers in the previous task.

We will finish with a group discussion about various topics, for example: why we haven’t landed on Mars yet, what big challenges technology can help us overcome or what direction the technological development is taking?
