Reading and Speaking- two activities designed to illustrate the difference between understanding meaning of a text and simple understanding syntax.
Reading – a pre reading task to allow students to guess content of a text. (page 38)
Thursday
Reading – students reflect on the points within the text, the style and tone. (ex 4 page 38)
Reading and writing – Students read the text again and write a short summary of each paragraph (page 38)
Reading and writing – Students read an exam question for an essay in the CAE as well as reusing phrases from the previous text to give examples and reasons. (ex 5 and 6page 39)
Homework – Students write an essay (ex 7page 39)
