Happy New Year! I hope you all had a lovely time over the festive period! Today we will start off class with some general discussion about our breaks, and also New Year’s resolutions. This will include how they started, some of the most typical resolutions, and if we have made any. We will then look at how to talk about the future using the future perfect simple and continuous, and the future continuous using the following Bamboozle

Homework:

Put the verbs in brackets in the correct tense (future perfect simple or continuous.) 

  1. By 2023 we (live) in Madrid for 20 years. 
  2. He (write)  a book by the end of the year. 
  3. (finish, you) this novel by next week? 
  4. He (read)  this book for 15 days by the end of this week. 
  5. They (be) married for 40 years by the end of this month. 
  6. (be, she) pregnant for three months this week? 

Then write 9 sentences about what you hope to have achieved by the end of the year and what you’ll be doing at various points in the year, using the future continuous and future perfect (Simple and continuous).

Wednesday 12th

Next we will complete exercises 1 and 2 on page 77.

We will also complete the listening part 4 task on page 196.
