Today we will look at the use of inversion and exam techniques for part 4 of the RUE exam (on page 73)

We’ll kick off by discussing what makes a good horror story, before reading a short extract. From there we will look at what inversion is, and how and why to use it. We will work through the most common structures before completing some part 4 exam style questions.

Wednesday 3rd

Today we’ll start a new topic in the book. It’s all about buildings and structures so we will focus on vocabulary connected to this topic. We will play a Quizlet Live.

We will also look at the homework task, which is to write a proposal, and plan our answers in pairs. 

Homework:

There are plans to demolish an old and unused building in the town where you are a student. You feel that the building should be saved. You decide to write a proposal for the town council explaining why you think the building should be preserved, suggesting what could be done to modernise it and saying how the building could benefit the local people.

Write your proposal in 220-260 words.
