Class 1 – Tuesday, April 26th

Welcome back! Today we will work on our vocabulary, practicing for Reading and Use of English – part 1 of CAE exam and do task 2 on pages 93 in Student’s book.
The main focus here will be on collocations, verb collocations as well as adjective collocations.

We will then move on to adverb + adjective collocations and go through all of them here:

Next we’ll do task 3 on page 93.

We will finish with a general exercise and test our knowledge with this „What’s wrong quiz“ to review everything we’ve learned so far. Some of the phrases have a mistake, some of them don’t have any problems. Let’s test all aspects of our English – from grammar to vocabulary and spelling!

We will spend some time on Speaking – part 2, learn useful language to talk about pictures, compare, contrast and speculate.

Homework: Writing – Part 1 (write an essay) about the topic of bullfighting.



Hint: Be careful about your content, language and vocabulary used as well as organization of your essay.
Content: Your content should be relevant and your reader should be informed. Please mind the word limit!
Language and vocabulary: Use a wide range of vocabulary and grammatical structures. Use linking devices appropriately (furthermore, however, in spite of, on the other hand etc.)
Organization: Your essay should be well organized and coherent. Mind the structure! (Your essay should consist of different paragraphs starting with an Introduction, then 2nd and 3rd body paragraph to express your arguments, pros and cons and finally, 4th paragraph should be a conclusion consisting of your opinion about the subject).
