Today we will talk about customs and traditions related to dating and romance around the world! We will begin with the following video and discuss dating in Spain.
What Dating Is Like Around The World
- What are the most common ways for people to meet potential dates nowadays, and how much do these differ from the past?
- What is a typical first date in Spain?
- Is it a man’s responsibility to ask a woman out? If you’re a woman, have you asked a man out on a first date?
- Who should pay on a date? What do you think about going dutch (splitting the bill evenly)?
- Is it okay to date several people at the same time?
- How can you tell if the other person is enjoying the date or wanting the date to end?
- Is it important to date many people before getting married? Is it better to be with one person for your entire life?
We will also try to guess the love story based on the pictures below, and learn some phrasal verbs and idioms from the PDF below.
We will finish off with a part 1 Use of English exam practice about being single.
