Today we will focus on the general listening techniques of identifying distractors and how synonyms and similar meaning phrases are used to indicate the correct answer.
We will work from page 14 of the textbook. We will complete exercises 1 and 2 in small groups.
Students will then complete exercises 1 and 3 on page 14 and exercise 6 on page 15.
We will then look at page 15 and the vocabulary related to personality. We will categorise the vocabulary before completing the following listening task:

Thursday
Today we will look at pages 18 and 21 in the book. They both focus on word formation which is relevant for part 3 of the RUE exam.
First off we will revise negative prefixes and what they mean, by completing exercises 1-3 on page 18. We will then focus on identifying word forms in exercise 1 on page 21. We will look at the example exam practice on page 21 together to decide what word forms we need, and students will then complete it for homework.
We will finish the class with typical questions from speaking part 1, and a Kahoot to learn some Proficiency-level phrases: Relationship idioms Kahoot
