Today we will focus on speaking part 3 and how to use interactive language for debating.
To begin, we will look at the following images and decide which one represents us best

Normal watch vs Smart watch
Then we will look at interactive language we can use in the speaking exam by playing a Quizlet Live. We will use this language (which you can also see below) to debate in small groups the topics from this Quizlet set.
We will apply all we have learned to complete page 53 of the text book:

Friday
Today we will start class with a game of ESL Scattergories to learn and revise vocabulary. We will then talk about our favourite films and actors, and what we think life would be like if we were famous.
We will watch a video about Will Smith and his opinion, and then revise the debate language from last class by discussing whether being famous has more benefits or negatives.
Once we have finished this, students will practise question formation by playing 20 questions with a famous person.
To finish class we will play a Kahoot of the students’ choosing.
Homework:
Make a fact file about a famous person. Write minimum 100 words and say:
- Their name, age and where they are from
- Why they are famous (e.g. actor, singer footballer etc)
- What they have achieved in their life (e.g. won the World Cup, won an Oscar)
- Two interesting facts about their life
- Why you like this famous person
You can include a photo if you want, but it isn’t obligatory!
