Today we will start a new topic in the book. It’s all about sport, so we will begin with some speaking practice to start us off:
- What is your favourite sport to watch or play? Why?
- Have you ever attended a live sporting event? Which one(s)? What was your experience like?
- What is the most popular sport in your country? Why do you think it is so popular?
- How important is it for children to play sports?
- What are some benefits of playing sports? Do you think there are any drawbacks?
- Do you think it is fair for athletes to earn such high salaries? Why or why not?
We will then complete the listening task on page 141
Afterwards, we will examine words with similar meaning on page 136 and by playing the following quizlet live games:

In part 2 of the class we will revise how to write a review on page 138. We will begin with a video about the Scottish Highland games.
Scottish Highland Games: Explained
We will discuss similar festivals in Spain and why they are important, and then cover the structure of the review.
