Hello everyone! 🙂
Tuesday:
Today we are going to work on our vocabulary, specifically looking at expressions with the very «take».
Let’s watch the following video to get us started:
What are the 5 expressions with «take» mentioned in the video?
Can you give me an example sentences for each phrase?
What other phrases do we know where «take» is used?
Let’s play a game: You have to mime for the whole class an expression with «take» and they have to guess what it is. The person who guesses the correct answer then has to mime a different expression for the class.
Now lets think about different phases with the verb «have».
Can you think of example phrases with the verb have?
Do you «have a shower» or «take a shower»?
Do you «have a break» or «take a break»?
Do you «have a walk» or «take a walk»?
Do you «have a look» or «take a look»?
Thursday:
Let’s revise some of the phrases we talked about the last day to do with the verbs «have» and «take»
Which phrases could go with both «have» and «take» without changing meaning?
Do «take a chance» and «have a chance» have the same meaning?
Do «take a temperature» and «have a temperature» have the same meaning?
Before we practise these phrases by playing a bamboozle, I want to know if you can tell me what a phrasal verb is.
What 2 word types make up a phrasal verb?
How is the verb on its own different to the phrasal verb?
Can you give me some examples with any verb that comes to mind?
Can you give me any examples with the verb «take»?
Let’s play a bamboozle to practise phrases with «take» and «have»!
