Complete KEY for Schools, Monday and Wednesday 17.30 to 18.30

Monday 4th October

The text books are now ready to use, so the first thing we will do in class is to give out the Complete KEY for Schools textbook and begin to look at the book.

The very first thing to look at is on Page 7, and that is the structure of the Key Exam.

We will read the text together and talk about the different parts of the exam. I will ask you to close your books and we can have a quick test to see what we remember, how many parts are there, how long do they take etc etc.

Then, before we look more at the book, we will play a quick game of Bamboozle to do some getting-to-know-you topics that are useful when thinking of the Speaking Part of the exam. We will use a timer of 30/40 seconds so that we practice speaking for longer periods of time in English.

After that game, we can open the textbooks on Page 8 and 9 and start to do the activities. First there is a listening and speaking activity, and on the next page we can see a few listening activities to start looking at the KEY exam listening section.

Finally, to practice listening more, we will play a game from Lyricstraining where we can listen to a song and choose the correct words to complete the lyrics.

Wednesday 6th October

This is the last class of the week so HOMEWORK will be given today, some writing that we can look at later.

First, we will look at the Present Simple tense and how it is used. From the textbook we can see on Page 10 a quick look at how and when and why we use the Present Simple.

Then, each student will write TEN sentences in the Present Simple (positive, negative, things about daily habits, things that are always true etc etc)

Then we will play a game to use the Present Simple more,
