Monday
In class one we will focus on word formation. Top start off we will first learn/revise some of the more common rules regarding affixes by completing the following activities:
We will then look at some typical noun –> noun word formation examples.
To prepare for the exam task, students will discuss some of the strangest foods they have eaten and then complete the part 3 exam task on page 99.
Afterwards, students will be put to the test in a game of Bamboozle.
Homework:
In preparation of Wednesday’s class, I’d like you to dig out your favourite travel photograph. We will share our photos in the class and talk about what makes them so special.
Wednesday
In class two we will focus on the essay from writing part 1. We will start off by sharing our photos and discussing what made them so special. Was it the location, the atmosphere? The memories they evoke, or simply the aesthetics of the photo?
We will then read the example exam task on page 100 and complete exercises 5 and 8 on page 101. This will help us form a plan for our essay.
We will finish off class with a Bamboozle to review what we have learned in chapters 1-6.
Homework:
Please write the essay we planned in class and complete the review exercises on page 102.
